Thanksgiving

While full of

excitement and energy, the holiday season can also be a time of stress and financial worry. For people coming out of the homeless shelter system or with limited incomes, Thanksgiving can be an unaffordable luxury. To ease this burden, THC set out to provide 300 meals to our families. Those that needed support were identified by their case managers and presented with turkeys, thanksgiving baskets or supermarket gift cards so that they could purchase a full and personalized dinner for themselves. We are happy to announce that with the help of many churches and organizations, we were able to exceed our goal ensuring that over 350 families had support this Thanksgiving!

The outpouring of support from our community was inspiring and we are so deeply grateful for your compassion.

We especially want to thank Buckley Sandler, LLP, Dantes Partners St. Columba’s Episcopal Church DC, Deliverance Temple/Victory Worship A.M.E. Zion Church, Embassy Church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church-Alexandria, Somerset Development Company, St. Francis Episcopal Church-Great Falls, St. John’s Episcopal Church-Norwood Parish, Norwood, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church – Fairland, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church – Rock Creek, Trinity Lutheran Church – North Bethesda, the Washington District-A.M.E. Zion Church, and ZA+D for their donations. During the cold holiday season, your generosity has helped warm the hearts of our families and all of us here at THC. Thank you!
