Happy 30th Birthday to Housing Up!
Since 1990, Housing Up has built thriving communities for our city’s most vulnerable families. In 2020, we will celebrate 30 years of serving the DC community. Our growth and impact over the last three decades are thanks to your support.
We invite you to share in this exciting milestone with us! Please continue to visit this page for updates on the special events and campaigns we have planned for this year.
Creating a Home in Affordable Housing: A Panel Discussion
What does “home” mean to you? As Housing Up families transition out of homelessness and into affordable housing, how do they create a safe and comforting environment for themselves as they navigate these changes?
Join us for a FREE panel discussion this spring* to hear from DC Department of Human Services, advocacy groups, the faith community and individuals with lived experiences of homelessness. Click here to register.
*Due to the currently recommended safety measures around COVID-19, we are determining the feasibility of hosting a virtual panel on our originally planned date of April 9. If a virtual panel is not possible, we will postpone the in-person panel at the Marvin Center at George Washington University to a later date. We will share an update once determined.
Housing Up’s First Annual Community Day
Warmer weather, neighborhood parties and cookouts are approaching! We’re hosting Housing Up’s first annual Community Day outside our new office, The Parks at Walter Reed, this summer!*
Interested in tabling or partnering with us? Contact Dillon Ficca, Manager of Volunteer Programs & Community Engagement, at [email protected]
*Out of care and caution for our community due to COVID-19, we will determine and share the event date based on the safety guidance from DC officials and health organizations.
Living in the City 2020
We’ve kicked off planning for our annual Living in the City benefit, Housing Up’s largest fundraising event of the year. This year, Living in the City will be held in fall 2020. Click here for sponsorship opportunities.
