A Panel Discussion: COVID-19 & Its Impact on Women of Color
The pandemic has drastically heightened the inequities low-income women of color face, and it has underscored how sheltering in place does not inflict equivalent hardship on all: women of color have been laid-off in record numbers, lack of safe & stable childcare has increased, and mandated reporters have had fewer interactions with families at risk of experiencing domestic violence.
Join Housing Up, Center for American Progress, D.C. Safe and Suited for Change on Wednesday, March 31 at 6 pm EST to discuss the intersection of housing, employment & domestic violence, and the roles we can play in addressing the compounding crises facing women of color today.

Celebrating Women’s History Month
Happy Women’s History Month! This March, we loved lifting up the stories of incredible Black women in D.C.’s history, from Dr. Alyce Gullattee to Hilda Mason.
In honor of Women’s History Month, we encourage our community to read & listen to the stories of the families we serve, who are overwhelmingly led by low-income Black women. With some national data projecting that homelessness in the U.S. could rise by 49% in the next four years, it’s important we continue to support the families we serve by providing the critical services that will end family homelessness.

Join Housing Up’s Associate Board
The associate board supports Housing Up’s mission and goals while building professional skills and growing as community leaders. Associate board members are young professionals that contribute their talents and resources to cultivate a network of Housing Up supporters, volunteers and ambassadors.
