Our Back to School Drive is Here!

It’s here! Housing Up is launching its annual Back to School Drive and this year, we are focused on ensuring each of the 2,000 children we serve has a backpack full of school supplies that will set them up for success.

This year, our Back to School Drive will primarily operate out of a Target registry. Our Back to School Drive is completely dependent upon the contributions from our amazing community. Last year, Housing Up and our incredible partners were able to assemble and distribute a record total of 1,125 backpacks. Every school-age child in our Permanent Supportive Housing and Rapid Re-Housing programs received a backpack, an impact that reached nearly 750 households across DC.

Summer Volunteer Opportunities

With summer officially underway, we are gearing up for the return of our summer camp programming and are looking for volunteers to pitch in! Our summer camp kicks off on July 6 and occurs twice weekly (every Monday & Wednesday) at our Fort View community. If you’re interested in volunteering – it’s a great way to earn community service hours for middle & high schoolers – please email volunteer@housingup.org.
