Tell us a bit about yourself?
My name is Adele Reynolds and I am a 2023 graduate from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Public Policy and a minor in History. I have a passion for programs that combine ideals of social justice and policy. I imagine a world that is compassionate, kind, and willing to be curious about solutions that prioritize people.
What drew you to Housing Up’s internship program?
I was drawn to Housing Up because I am interested in centering community driven work and being an active participant in my neighborhood and city. I am drawn to organizations that pride themselves on local, community based work. Housing Up’s mission of acknowledging the agency providing safe and affordable housing gives a family is so important. Housing is a right! Housing Up’s internship program offered me an opportunity to partake in meaningful community work, while getting to work with a great team that is teaching me so much about non-profit work!
What are you looking forward to most this year?
This year I am most looking forward to exploring and cultivating ties to Washington DC! As a bonus, I am so excited to see the cherry blossoms!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
An exciting thing about my passions and interests is they can lead to a wide array of opportunities. There is so much to explore in this world, and I hope to be doing something that is personally fulfilling and that engages with people. I want the work that I do to be intentional and impactful and there are so many ways to do that!
What’s something not everyone knows about you?
I was born on New Years Eve, I love art and art history, and I like to watercolor in my free time!
