Join us for “What is Affordable Housing Anyway?” on 6.14.22
“Affordable housing” pops up in DC news and politics all the time. As one of the nation’s most expensive housing markets, the need for more affordable housing has only been underscored and heightened by the pandemic. But, how does affordable housing actually work? How do we help low-income residents become homeowners? What unique benefits and challenges arise in the DC housing landscape?
Join us and DCHFA, LISC, and Manna DC on 6.14 at noon to learn more about affordable housing in DC and how you can help ensure affordable housing for all DC residents. Register here.

What does community mean to you?
Our most important fundraiser of the year, Living in the City, will be held mostly virtually on 10.6.22 and because of that, we’re looking to Housing Up’s champions to participate in a community video that will be featured during the event’s broadcast.
We’re asking each of you to film quick videos of yourselves – with your phones or computer cameras – answering the following question: What does community mean to you?
Record your answer in 30 seconds or less and submit it here.

Staff Spotlight: Carl Douglas
This month, Carl Douglas joined our team at Housing Up as a permanent supportive housing case manager. As someone who experienced homelessness himself, he found his passion for helping others reach their full potential through his hardships. He was drawn to Housing Up because of our belief that people who have safe, affordable housing and genuine opportunities have the power to transform their lives.
