Our Annual Holiday Drive is Here!
Housing Up is excited to launch our annual Holiday Drive! Each year, we work with our generous donors and local partners to provide gifts to nearly 1,500 children in our permanent supportive housing program.
While the District has returned to “normal” in many ways, the pandemic and rising inflation continue to disproportionately affect the people we serve – overwhelmingly Black and brown families who are traveling the difficult road of maintaining their safe and affordable housing. We know that like these families, many of you have been touched by the pandemic. Your contribution to our Holiday Drive will help our families maintain their independence while simultaneously spreading joy to folks in need.
Interested in participating in this year’s Holiday Drive? You can get involved in a number of ways:
- If you would like to make a monetary donation that will add to our Holiday Drive gift fund, click here.
- Directly purchase gifts from our Amazon wish list.
- If your employer, faith-based group, or community organization would like to arrange a Holiday Drive effort, we’d love to help. Please contact Shahidah Abdul-Lateef at sabdul-lateef@housingup.org for more details.

GivingTuesday is on 11.29.22
On Tuesday, November 29, Housing Up will be celebrating GivingTuesday, a day dedicated to global giving. We’ll be raising funds to support our families as the effects of the pandemic continue – from rent payments & utility bills to groceries & school supplies, your contributions will make a direct impact on our families.
We don’t take your support for granted. Over the next few weeks, look out for emails & social media posts explaining how you can get involved. Make your donation today.
Interested in Volunteering?
We are well underway on our fall volunteer programming and are gearing up for winter, and we’re looking for volunteers to pitch in! We’re hosting after school tutoring for the students in our programs and have plenty other upcoming opportunities.
