Update: 500 Families. 100 Days.
THC knew there were practical, feasible solutions to the DC Homelessness Crisis. The “500 Families. 100 Days.” Campaign seeks to provide just such a solution by placing 500 families in housing by June 2014, and not just any housing, but a home of their own with extensive support services and the potential of permanency. We are proud and thrilled that the Campaign has begun and is gaining great momentum! Please help us keep the ball rolling by attending the April 17th event at Virginia Williams Family Resource Center. Beginning at 9am, DC government officials will join the Community Partnership, THC and the Coalition for Nonprofit Housing and Economic Development (CNHED), housing providers, service providers, and all those interested in pushing us towards our goal to house and assist the over 600 homeless families still in the DC General Shelter or in hotels.
If you have any questions about the event or the Campaign, please contact Executive Director Polly Donaldson, (202) 291-5535 ext 401 or pdonaldson@thcdc.org, or fellow THC staff member Cassi Hunter, (202) 291-5535 ext 421 or chunter@thcdc.org. We hope to see you on the 17th!
