As students in Housing Up’s programs return to school this fall, our 2023 Back to School Drive aimed to provide each student with a new backpack filled with supplies for a successful school year. With the help of our generous partners and donors, we assembled and distributed over 650 backpacks. Every school-age child in our permanent supportive housing, rapid re-housing and affordable housing programs who needed a backpack of school supplies received one, an impact that reached nearly 600 households across DC.

We’d like to offer a special thank you to Urban-Atlantic Development Company, Children’s National Hospital, First Scots Presbyterian Church, Union City Church of DC, Housing Up’s Associate Board, and our other volunteers for helping to pack hundreds of backpacks during the Drive. You make this work possible!
