One Day Until Living in the City 2017!

Tomorrow night, we will gather for Living in the City 2017. We’re looking forward to sharing the evening with you! Below you’ll find all the information you should know before you go…

How to Get There

Living in the City 2017 will take place at Long View Gallery, located at 1234 9th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.

If you are traveling by metro: Long View Gallery is conveniently located two blocks from the Mt. Vernon Square/7th Street – Convention Center metro stop on the Green/Yellow line.

If you are driving: There are a number of parking garages nearby and very limited street parking. Please visit Parking Panda to view available parking garages and pricing, and to reserve your parking spot ahead of time!

What to Wear & Bring

The attire for Living in the City is business attire, so feel free to wear what you wore to work that day.

If you purchased a ticket online or through the mail, your information has been received. You do not need to bring a physical ticket with you. When you arrive, just mention your name at the registration table and staff will check you in and give you a program.

If you haven’t registered yet, that’s okay! There’s still time to buy your tickets online, here.

What to Expect

Doors open at 6:15, and registration starts at 6:30pm. When you arrive, please visit the open bar and enjoy the hors d’oeuvres. A brief program will begin promptly at 7pm, hosted by Ray Suarez, formerly of Al Jazeera America’s Inside Story and the PBS NewsHour. During the program, we will honor this year’s community leadership award recipient, Jenner & Block, and celebrate our client, Joy Shepperson, for her amazing commitment to her family. To end our evening, we’ll hold a live service auction, where you can make a donation to support one of Housing Up’s programs or services. After the program, guests are welcome to stay and mingle, or check out!

How to Check Out

After the live auction, take your color-coded bid cards to the auction check-out table and pay with a check or credit card. All donations are tax deductible. You’ll receive a mailed thank you letter approximately one week after Living in the City. It’s that easy!
