As a leading nonprofit provider of affordable housing and services to families experiencing homelessness, we have always valued the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) commitment to making homelessness a rare, brief and non-recurring experience. Since 2010, Opening Doors, the nation’s first comprehensive federal strategy to prevent and end homelessness, has been instrumental in aligning federal, state and local governments in this shared mission.

Housing Up will work with the newly appointed Secretary of HUD, Dr. Ben Carson, to continue to pursue our mission of providing families the housing stability they need to transform their lives. In this time of transition, it is more important than ever that we find ways to work together to provide a safe home to every family in our nation’s capital.
