Back-to-School Drive Recap!

Now that school has officially started up again, we at Housing Up wanted to take this opportunity to recap our back to school drive. This year alone we were able to outfit almost 500 children with much needed backpacks and school supplies. Those numbers represent an increase of one hundred children provided for from last year! Housing Up Acquires A New Property!

Housing Up, in partnership with Security Properties, has acquired Hedin House Apartments, a 48-unit building in Ward 5. Together with Glenn Arms, a 55-unit building in Adams Morgan that was acquired earlier this year, Housing Up and Security Properties will preserve 103 units of affordable housing. Housing Up officially acquired Glenn Arms in February and Hedin House on June 30, and will begin renovations of both properties while maintaining the historical integrity of the buildings. Glenn Arms will be included on the National Historic Registry.
