Housing Up has been closely monitoring national and local reports about coronavirus, or COVID-19. We have reviewed guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Mayor Bowser’s declaration of a state of emergency in the District of Columbia, and we have been in contact with peer DC service providers. In light of currently available information, Housing Up will implement the following temporary protocols:

  • Beginning Monday, March 16 and continuing until further notice, headquarters staff will be on telework, and all volunteer activities will be suspended. The primary reason for this action is to limit large gatherings of people in one location.
  • All contact between case managers and clients will be virtual and fully documented beginning Monday, March 16 and continuing until further notice.

The health, safety and security of Housing Up staff members and families are and will always be our top priorities. These protocols are subject to change at any time based on further guidance from DC officials and health organizations, and we will update this page with any changes. More information about COVID-19 can be found on the CDC’s website here.
