Thanks for Making Living in the City 2023 Our Most Successful Event Yet
We’re so grateful to you – our supporters far and wide – for making Living in the City 2023 our most successful fundraiser yet. We raised nearly $110,000 for our community, exceeding our previous high mark in 2020. Your donations will help fund some of our essential programs and resources such as mental healthcare, resident services and youth engagement. At a time when many of the families we serve are struggling to find their new post-pandemic normal, your support now means more than ever.
If you didn’t have a chance to attend Living in the City, you can view our video spotlight of the important work our Housing Services team does to find our clients safe & affordable housing. You can also take a look at our spotlight on the great youth engagement & community building programming at one of our oldest affordable housing buildings.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
This year, we celebrated Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15 by highlighting the families we serve as well as prominent Latinx figures in DC’s history and beyond.
Did you know that nearly 1/3 of the families we serve at our affordable housing communities are Latinx? You can celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month all year round by volunteering with Housing Up and connecting with these families. Learn more about our volunteer opportunities here.
