Happy Women’s History Month!
As Women’s History Month concludes, we are celebrating the amazing women-led families that make up Housing Up’s community, the vast majority of whom are Black single mothers.
Across our social channels, we highlighted powerful women who are part of the Housing Up community, including Isabelle and the Diatta family, the Garcia family, and a special focus on our tutoring program. We put the spotlight on women’s issues and the unique challenges they face when it comes to accessing safe and affordable housing. We examined LeanIn.org’s study on Women in the Workplace, and reflected on the specific pressures faced by women and how Black and brown women acutely experience them.
Housing Up is here to celebrate and uplift women and pay attention to the issues facing the community year-round, and we encourage you to do the same!
