We’ve seen firsthand how Housing Up families, like yours, have been grappling with the effects of coronavirus. Though these last few months haven’t been how we anticipated celebrating Housing Up’s 30th anniversary, we’re still committed to what matters most: serving our more than 700 vulnerable families, especially in a time of crisis.
In light of this difficult time, we want to share some good news with our amazing community to end this week on a positive note. We hope you and your family continue to stay safe and healthy, and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
#GivingTuesdayNow: A Global Giving Movement
On Tuesday, May 5, 2020, Housing Up will celebrate #GivingTuesdayNow, a day dedicated to global giving. We’ll be raising funds to directly assist our families with groceries, rent payments and other essentials during this crisis.
Look out for more information via email and social media about how to get involved. In the meantime, check out our #GivingTuesdayNow campaign page.
Thank you, Wells Fargo & Jane Bancroft Robinson Foundation
We are pleased to announce that Housing Up is the recipient of two grants from the Jane Bancroft Robinson Foundation and Wells Fargo, totaling $55,000, that will aid our families struggling in this public health emergency. We’re so grateful for our incredible partners all year round, but especially during this time of increased need. Thank you for your generosity!
National Volunteer Appreciation Month
Did you know April marks National Volunteer Appreciation Month? Because we can’t celebrate our incredible volunteers in person this year, we want to highlight some of their great work and why they keep coming back to Housing Up. Follow along on our social channels to see more volunteer spotlights!
“My favorite part about volunteering with Housing Up is working with the Women’s Group. We’ve been able to develop a space designed for women to come together, be creative and support one other during the transition from homelessness to permanent housing.” -Makeda Titus
“I have had the pleasure of working with [and tutoring] some exceptionally bright and talented kids. The kids love having us there, and the staff at Housing Up really work hard to make everyone feel like one big family. I look forward to continue volunteering at Housing Up and serving as a mentor to the kids.” -Danyaal Jafrani
Flashback Friday: Living in the City 2019
This year, Living in the City will be held on October 5 at Woolly Mammoth Theatre! We loved looking back on last year’s event video, and we’re so excited to come together again as a community this fall. Check out our event sponsorship opportunities and keep an eye out for formal invitations.
