Worth Fighting For: Housing Up Takes Part in Howard’s Day of Service
On Friday, August 21, Housing Up participated in Howard University’s 2020 Day of Service, which included virtual service-learning and volunteer opportunities with organizations that focus on housing and food security, voter registration of political empowerment, and community health.
With more than 1,000 students registered for the virtual day of service, Housing Up provided an overview on our mission and impact, the state of homelessness in Washington, DC, and how these student volunteers can get involved with our organization. Howard students also wrote letters to some of the children Housing Up serves.
We look forward to working with these dedicated student volunteers in the months and years to come, and we are so grateful for their support in furthering our mission of building thriving communities in DC. Read the full press release here.
