Marissa Green

Administrative Assistant

Where were you before Housing Up?

I studied Communications at Towson University, and I was also a part of the women’s soccer team and interned with the media relations department. After graduating, I worked a lot in youth sports. I’ve always enjoyed working with people and children, and for a while, I thought I would work in sports. But in 2019, I decided to attended Cosmetology school to pursue another interest of mine. So, prior to Housing Up, I was working as a Styling Assistant in a salon and building my clientele to someday open a salon of my own.

What kind of impact are you hoping to have on the organization?

Playing sports and working in a salon environment has given me the skills to connect with people in a way that I think will be essential to working at Housing Up. I hope to use my communications skills and team-driven mindset to help the organization to continue to grow and do my part to support the staff and bring good energy to the workplace.

What’s something not everyone knows about you?

I am a huge dog lover, I still play soccer in a couple of co-ed leagues throughout the year, I recently got into plants and have been growing my collection, and I’m trying to get back into reading. I made a New Year’s resolution to read one book a month. I am currently reading Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid.
