On Monday, October 5 at 7 PM, we’ll be virtually celebrating Housing Up’s 30 years of service with our loyal supporters, dedicated volunteers and passionate staff. Since our founding in 1990, Housing Up has grown from serving 14 families in a building on the corner of Georgia Avenue and Kennedy Street NW to now serving more than 700 families across the District. At Living in the City, we’ll celebrate this progress and toast to our amazing community that has made it possible.

We’ll spotlight the incredible stories of Ms. Garcia and Ms. Kyle, two Housing Up clients who used their challenging circumstances as motivation to provide a secure and joyous life for their own families. Join us on October 5 to hear their full stories!

Enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres

Since we can’t celebrate our families and supporters in person this year, we are providing a few at-home event experiences to bring the celebration to you. Whether you’re in the mood for cheese & charcuterie or vegetable antipasto, all proceeds from our event packages will benefit our families and support a wonderful local business, Occasions Caterers. Make sure to place your order online by September 28. 

Help end family homelessness in Washington, DC

Housing Up’s vision is to end family homelessness by providing affordable housing and comprehensive support services to homeless and at-risk families. The proceeds from all Living in the City sponsorships, at-home event experience purchases, and virtual auction directly benefit our programs, allowing us to better serve hundreds of vulnerable families, especially during this difficult time.
