Housing Up believes that service has the power to transform the lives of our families, volunteers, and staff members. Volunteers – what we call our Front Porch
Crew – are at the heart of our mission. They power our programs, strengthen our services, and help families build brighter, more stable futures. We offer a variety of opportunities ranging from one-time activities and in-kind donation drives to weekly opportunities. 

Some Opportunities Include:

• Youth and adult tutoring
• Community garden clean-up
• Administrative tasks
• Holiday-specific events
• Family cooking classes
• Camp Housing Up support

To volunteer with us, you must first complete a volunteer training and background check. Trainings take place virtually and cover the larger issues of homelessness and housing in Washington, DC, as well as the work that Housing Up does, and best practices for volunteering.
