Happy Black History Month!
As Black History Month comes to an end, we are celebrating the amazing families that make up Housing Up’s community, the vast majority of whom are Black. In fact, most of the families we serve are led by Black single mothers.
Across our social channels, we highlighted Black History Month events taking place at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, The National Museum of African American History and Culture, The National Gallery of Art, and the DC Public Library. We also put the spotlight on local Black-owned businesses in our newsletter sidebar (check them out to the right!).
Housing Up is here to celebrate the Black community and pay attention to the issues facing the community year-round, and we encourage you to do the same!
