We are pleased to announce the expansion of our rapid re-housing program, effective October 1, 2017. Housing Up now has the capacity to serve an additional 120 families in rapid re-housing, bringing our current capacity to 265 families.
Our rapid re-housing expansion is in response to the high demand of services for families experiencing homelessness. There are hundreds of families currently living in shelter or have recently exited shelter that are in need of case management services and access to important wraparound supportive services. These services help families address barriers to housing stability, education and employment, and enable them to live independently.
Housing Up continues to collaborate with local and federal governments to deliver programs and services that end family homelessness. Rapid re-housing, along with permanent supportive housing and affordable rental housing, helps ensure that families’ experiences with homelessness are rare, brief and nonrecurring. We look forward to helping more families make transformational changes in their lives.
