As students in Housing Up’s programs return to in-person learning this fall, our 2021 Back to School Drive aimed to provide each student with a new backpack filled with supplies for a successful school year. With the help of our generous partners, Housing Up was able to assemble and distribute a record total of 1,125 backpacks. Every school-age child in our Permanent Supportive Housing and Rapid Re-Housing programs received a backpack, an impact that reached nearly 750 households across DC.

We’d like to offer a special thank you to Urban Atlantic, Children’s National Hospital, American University Washington College of Law, and The Parks at Walter Reed team for volunteering to pack 800 backpacks during the Drive. You make this work possible!
