Every year, Housing Up’s Back to School Drive provides students in our programs with backpacks filled with essential school supplies like calculators, pencils, and rulers. This initiative, powered entirely by generous supporters and community partners, ensures that all the children we serve have the resources they need to thrive during the school year. 

This year, we announced our new Community Sponsorship opportunity, which allowed companies, faith-based organizations, and other community groups to support entire Housing Up communities, such as Fort View Apartments, The Faircliff, and Weinberg Commons. Thanks to our incredible community, we were able to assemble and distribute almost 350 backpacks ahead of the 2026-2027 school year. With the support of our longstanding & new partners and donors, hundreds of the children we serve across DC will have the resources to start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
