Thanks for Supporting Our 2024 Back to School Drive!
With your support, we were able to supply 763 youth in our programs with backpacks for the 2024-2025 school year. Every school-age child in our permanent supportive housing, rapid re-housing and affordable housing programs who needed a backpack of school supplies received one, an impact that reached 300 households across DC.
We’d like to extend a special thank you to our partners, including Housing Up’s Associate Board, and our other volunteers for helping to pack hundreds of backpacks during the Drive. You made this work possible! Read about your full impact here.

Ms. Hall experienced homelessness and health issues on and off throughout her adulthood. She was understandably eager to find a safe, affordable place to call home.
A month or two before Ms. Hall turned 55, Ms. Hall’s case manager at Calvary Women’s Services, where she was staying, was searching for apartments for her. They had spoken to Olivia, one of Housing Up’s on-site case managers, about an apartment at Entwine. Entwine is a 55+ affordable housing community in the amenity-rich neighborhood of Takoma DC, and it is home to 129 units of affordable senior housing, including 24 units of senior permanent supportive housing.
Now living at Entwine, Ms. Hall describes what having access to safe and affordable housing means to her: “And I’m here [at Entwine], so whenever I don’t feel well, I can just lay down,” she said. “I can sit back and take care of myself and don’t have to worry about anything.”
Hear more client stories like Ms. Hall’s at our biggest fundraising event of the year, Living in the City. Living in the City will take place October 1 at 6PM. Purchase your tickets today or look into sponsorship opportunities on our website.
Expect an evening of celebration and community while we hear from the families Housing Up serves!
